Friends of the Greater Poinciana Area Hospital are continuing to give Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center heartburn.
More than 200 met Thursday night to get an update from their lawyer and object to how long and how slow the process of getting permits for a new hospital is. One of the most active, Annette Brown, has testified before the Florida Senate Appropriations Committee and gotten a word with Gov. Charlie Crist.

As I drive by Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center each morning, their doctor and nurse shortage does not seem to affect the newly added 4 floors to the medical center.
I believe the picture painted by the new construction tells the rest of the story on why the parent company of St. Cloud Regional Medical Center & Heart of Florida Medical Center does not want Poinciana to receive their permit to build a hospital in the area.
I would not be surprised if Avatar was somehow involved in the various anti-competitive efforts posed by area hospitals. They are the Secret-Keepers. For example, did you know — in a recent meeting in the community of Crescent Lakes — it was announced that while Poinciana taxpayers are paying for the toll road that will connect us to I-4, behinds the curtains Ken Shipley gave away the tolls to be collected to Avatar? In other words, Avatar will receive 100% of the fees collected at the toll booth that is being paid by Poinciana residents? Shipley sold Poinciana to Avatar for a road. What a schmuck.
