At a meeting on June 16, 2009, Tony Iorio, Vice President for Avatar Inc. stated the hospital for Poinciana is in the planning stages;
It is designated to go on a 40 acre site across from Solivita Marketplace on Cypress Parkway, (toward Johnson Road) in
Osceola Cunty. Avatar Property Inc owns this land.
On May 23, 2009 there was a meeting with the planners from Healthcare Administration, Inc. (HCA) the parent company for
Osceola Regional Medical Center who is building the hospital in Poinciana, civil engineers, and Avatar representatives.
The discussions included planning for the Hospital site (including Solivita Marketplace) as it pertains to the Master Plan for
the surrounding area.
Entitlements. Avatar has done the entitlements as described below
State Land use has been approved the Department of Community Affairs
Planned Unit Development (PUD) has been approved
The plan may include a medical building first. The purpose is to establish doctors offices in the community near the
Hospital .This is the concept usually applied to building a new hospital. The office building is to be a 30,000 sq. ft. unit building.
The hospital has been approved under the Certificate of Need (C.O.N.) for 60 beds. This can change after construction
to expand up to 250 beds with approval from AHCA based on needs. This expansion will be included in the building plans.

Conceptual Planning approval by HCA and Avatar
Architectural & Engineering Improvement Plans must be submitted to Osceola County by HCA and approved
Storm water facilities would be planned for the master site in conjunction with the Hospital
Solicit and award construction contracts

The plans to build the hospital must be to the state agency (AHCA) 18 months from C.O.N. approval (March 5, 2009),.
After State agency (AHCA) approval the hospital should take approximately 12 months to build. The estimated time
to be completed is in three years- sometime in 2012.
Mr. Iorio, stated even though the country is in a financial crisis, HCA has stated they are committed to building this
hospital in Poinciana. This was confirmed by Brian Marger, Chief Operating Officer of Osceola Regional Medical
Center, in a communication to Annette Brown-Best of the Friends of the Poinciana Hospital on May 29, 2009.
