Having worked for Collins, this is truly the Counties biggest mistake. Nothing like having a back stabbing, YES man running the Fire Department!!!!

You Have Got To Be Kidding Me!!!!! I am just wondering how an individual, (Richard Collins), with only a High School education and NO Florida Firefighting standards can become the Fire Chief of one of the largest counties in the State. I guess he knows the right things to say huh? Good luck with that decision Mr. Freilinger, I guess you are only concerned with a “Yes” man than someone who is qualified for the position.

As I drive by Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center each morning, their doctor and nurse shortage does not seem to affect the newly added 4 floors to the medical center.

I believe the picture painted by the new construction tells the rest of the story on why the parent company of St. Cloud Regional Medical Center & Heart of Florida Medical Center does not want Poinciana to receive their permit to build a hospital in the area.

I have been listening to this story all along in disbelief that something like this has occured amongst our youth. It seems more and more you hear story’s like this involving teens and it’s been my experience that the majority have been girls. I have no idea what is making today’s teens so angry, so hateful and so violent. What is so outrageous is that it took 8 kids to gang up on ONE? Also that it was such a premeditated act, one with no remorse and their plan of putting it out there on myspace just proves they are proud of this .I think its dispicable, and they should not be given any mercy from the judge, no more so than they gave the victim. Wrong or right what she said about them, there is no justication for their behavior. Today’s teens are becoming more and more desensitized to this kind of behaviour and God help this world when no consequences have been given to those who do things like this…we will all have to worry about running into the wrong person at the wrong time.

The only issue I have is with the owner’s. A leash law does exist. Regardless of a person’s personal choice in campanion, the dog should have been leashed or not out at all.
Perhaps the officer should not have shot the dog, but I was not in his shoes at the time and I feel as though he/she is probably more disturbed by the incident than the community.

I don’t condone shooting guns in such a populated area as Poinciana, but this area simply has too many of these type of dogs. Maybe Osceola should consider an educational campaign to help dog owners choose better breeds of dogs for pets. There are so many out there.

A note: Pit bulls are not necessarily unstable dogs but, as I’ve discovered, they act out in violence, much to a reflection of their owners. I, for example, owned a pit bull and he was the sweetest, most loving creature. Given a rotten owner, one vet told me, this same dog could’ve been a killer. (He had the jaws for it.)

I think this WHOLE situation is HORRIABLE!!! The parents as well as the kids should be punished for this incident. I personally hope that the kids go to prison for this for a long time, are these really the kind of kids (that within a few years will be adults) that we want out on our streets? If they are doing this at such a young age & just get a slap on the hand they WILL do worse crimes as an adult. I think these individuals should be used to make a point. THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR IS NOT & WILL NOT BE TOLORATED!
