retail-theft-10-31-07.jpgPolk County Sheriff’s detectives are asking for the community’s help in identifying a suspect in a Lakeland retail theft.

At approximately 1:37 am, on Thursday, October 18, 2007, a male subject entered the Circle K convenience store located at 10704, U.S. Highway 98 North in Lakeland. He left a Visa Gift card with the cashier and walked out of the store to put gas in the SUV he was driving.

He left the store without finishing the transaction. The cashier attempted to use the gift card but It was declined.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’8″ tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds, in his late teens or early twenties. He was driving a black Jeep SUV.

Osceola County– On October 30 at approximately 8:35 p.m.,Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in the Remington subdivision in reference to a robbery. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who indicated she was driving on west on Fortune Road when she saw a van following closely behind her car. The driver of the van began flashing the lights so the victim pulled over onto Marllo Road. Three black males exited the van and approached the victim’s car. One of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim while another reached into the car and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cup holder. All three jumped back into the van and the driver fled the area. Additional deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.
The victim can only describe the suspects as three black males wearing hooded sweatshirts. One suspect had a pierced lip. The victim could not describe the driver of the van.

Deputies encourage motorists not to stop their vehicle if someone is trying to get their attention on the roadway. Instead, motorists should drive to a well lit public area or call 911 to request assistance if they feel like they are being followed.

Osceola County, Florida – The Osceola County Legislative Delegation will meet on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. in the Osceola County Commission Chambers, County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Square, Suite 4100 on the 4th floor. salcedo_humberto.jpgOsceola County– On October 26 at approximately 11:00 p.m., Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of San Remo Road and KOA Street in Poinciana in reference to a shots fired call. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a Florida Highway Patrol trooper who indicated he was working a traffic crash with two motorists at the intersection when he heard two gun shots. All three got behind the Trooper’s vehicle when they heard two more shots. Two witnesses with the FHP trooper also heard and saw muzzle flashes coming from behind a white fence of a two story house. Deputies approached the two story house located at 402 Francisco Way and spoke with the residents. The residents consented to a search of the house and deputies located a shotgun and empty shotgun shells in the garbage. One of the residents, later identified as Humberto Salcedo (DOB 1/8/75), also told deputies he was angry at law enforcement for a traffic infraction he received several weeks ago. Based on the evidence that was found in the house and the information Salcedo provided, Salcedo was charged with three counts of Attempted Murder. He was booked into the Osceola County jail with no bond.

Osceola County — Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies have concluded the suspicious package left on a construction site from earlier today was not an explosive device. The incident closed E. 192 down for approximately 3 ½ hours while deputies investigated what appeared to be sticks of dynamite attached to a timing device.
Shortly after 11 a.m., Osceola County Sheriff’s dispatchers received a call from someone who saw the incident on the news. The caller indicated he thought the suspicious package might have fallen out of his vehicle Saturday night as he was traveling down E. 192 on his way home from a party. Deputies, ATF and FBI representatives interviewed the individual and determined it was accidental and there was no criminal intent on the part of the individual. Therefore the investigation was closed with no charges filed.

Background:
On October 29 at approximately 8:09 a.m., the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a suspicious package that was found on a construction site at Pine Grove Road and E. 192. by a construction worker. Deputies closed E. 192 from Hickory Tree Road to Nova Road. Alternate routes were Nova Road and Deer Park Road (SR419). As a precaution, some homes in the area near Pine Grove and E. 192 were evacuated. Sheriff’s deputies requested assistance from the Orange County Bomb Squad.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a suspicious package that was found on a construction site at Pine Grove Road and E. 192. Currently, deputies have closed off E. 192 from Hickory Tree Road to Nova Road. Alternate routes are Nova Road and Deer Park Road (SR419). As a precaution, some homes in the area near Pine Grove and E. 192 have been evacuated. Sheriff’s deputies have requested assistance from the Orange County Bomb Squad.

davis_mark-anthony.jpgOsceola County — The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public about a declared Sexual Predator, Mark Anthony Davis (DOB 10/4/67), who is now residing at 4420 Fanny Bass Road in St. Cloud, Florida. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Sexual Predator/Offender Unit verified the address on October 26 2007. Davis was convicted of the following:

Attempted Sexual Battery Victim Under 12 Years of Age on March 19, 2001

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is in the process of notifying all licensed day care centers and schools within a one-mile radius of Davis’ residence. The following is a description of Mark Anthony Davis:
