POINCIANA – This community’s free health care clinic is not under consideration to be closed by Osceola County commissioners because of budget woes, despite some early reports indicating that commissioners were considering such a move.

Osceola County Sheriff’s detectives have spoken with detectives in Paterson, New Jersey who indicate they were investigating a criminal case unrelated to Michael Rigby when they received a tip related to a possible wanted person.  The tipster stated that the possible wanted person was from Florida or Texas and  called himself “AJ” .  Police officers with a special multi-jurisdictional task force took this information and located Rigby in a public housing complex. Rigby was then taken into  custody without incident. They notified the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office last night at approximately 9:55 p.m.  We are working with the Paterson Police Department to extradite him to Florida and Rigby will go before a judge in Paterson.  I do not have a specific time frame on when this will occur.

Please call the Paterson Police Department if you have specific questions relating to his capture or court appearance.  I will update everyone if I receive more information on his extradition.

Osceola County — Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for Daniel Loggins, 16 who fled from deputies while in custody. Today at approximately 12:30 p.m., Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a suspicious person call on Canterbury Court near Peabody and Marigold in Poinciana. Deputies made contact with Loggins who initially provided a false name. As deputies were putting Loggins, who was handcuffed, in the patrol car, he struck one of the deputies and attempted to hit him with his head. Loggins, still in handcuffs, fled the area toward Peabody and Marigold.
Loggins is described as a black male, approximately 5’11” tall, weighing 180-190 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, white shirt and tan shorts. As a precaution, Poinciana Elementary School and Discovery Middle School were put on lock down. Deputies are currently in the area looking for Loggins. Loggins has previously been arrested for drug-related charges, but does not have a violent criminal history.Anyone with information is asked to call the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office at (407) 348-2222 or Crimeline at (800) 423-TIPS (8477).
