Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested 32-year-old Steeve Vernet, 2323 McCoy Road, Apt 628, Orlando Florida late last night, Sunday, July 25, 2010. Vernet has been charged with Armed Burglary of a Dwelling, Robbery with a Firearm and Second Degree Murder. He is scheduled for first appearance today, Monday, July 26, 2010, between the hours of 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an Armed Home Invasion which occurred in the Poinciana area at approximately 1:43 am, Sunday, July 25, 2010, at 1421 Teal Court, Kissimmee.

Detectives learned that several unknown black male subjects kicked-in the front door of the residence and entered wearing bandanas over their faces. Two of the four residents of the home, 31-year-old Evis Naranjo, DOB 03/01/1979, and 25-year-old Lixandra Garcia, DOB 12/06/1984, came out of their bedroom to investigate the noise and were confronted by the armed suspects who tied the victim’s hands.

The suspects proceeded to a second bedroom where two more victims were found, 31-year-old Maykel Lopez, DOB 05/31/1979; 23-year-old Dianelys Rivero, DOB 11/12/1986, and they too were bound at gunpoint.

Naranjo managed to get free and armed himself. He then began firing at the suspects who fled the residence. None of the residents were injured.

During the investigation, Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies advised they had received a call at approximately 2:12 am, of a black male found unconscious outside of a residence located at 2450 Rambling Oaks Way, Kissimmee, in their county. When OCS deputies arrived to investigate, they found a deceased black male with a bandana around his neck. The decedent has since been identified as 25-year-old Berthony Pascal, DOB 07-19-85, LKA 305 NW 100 Terrace, Miami. He was one of the suspects involved in the Armed Home Invasion from Teal Court.

The male subject who was found deceased by Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies has been identified as 25-year-old Berthony Pascal, DOB 07-19-85, LKA 305 NW 100 Terrace, Miami.

Pascal was one of three black males who forced their way into a residence located at 1421 Teal Court, Kissimmee, at approximately 1:43 am, this morning, Sunday, July 25, 2010. The residence is located within the Poinciana area of Polk County.
