Sunday, Oct. 17, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Vance Harmon Park, 690 Country Club Road. Several well-known artists will perform at the festival. Ismael Rivera, Mancho Rivera and Yolanda Rivera are already booked.
Attention vendors, applications are available for food, drink, arts and crafts and merchandise vendors. Business and non-profit organizations may rent a space. There also is space available for political candidates. Electricity is available for food and drink merchants who need it.

Osceola County (August 11, 2010) – Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies with the Community Response Team West arrested four suspects involved in more than 41 burglaries, fraud and identity theft cases. In May of this year, deputies were investigating a car burglary and identified four suspects involved in this incident and numerous car burglaries in Central Florida. Deputies obtained search warrants for their residence located at 116 Aurelia Court in Poinciana and three storage units in Orange County. They found hundreds of stolen items including jewelry, personal identification, credit cards and furniture. Detectives discovered the suspects, identified as Robin Adkins, Darryl Lewis, Christopher Hitch and Tremaine Weekly, would assume the victims’ identities and use their identification cards, credit cards and bank checks to make purchases throughout Florida. In addition, the suspects applied for credit, filed tax returns and purchased vehicles using the victims’ information. Detectives were able to recover 366 stolen items and identify 147 victims from 23 jurisdictions in Central Florida.

On August 10, Adkins, Lewis, Hitch and Weekly were arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail. In addition to Osceola charges, the Statewide Prosecutor has numerous fraud and burglary charges for crimes in Central Florida. At this time, the investigation is on-going.

Osceola County (August 10, 2010) – Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies are cautioning citizens about a police impersonator after an incident that recently occurred in Poinciana. On August 9 at approximately midnight, Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area near Vance Harmon Park in Poinciana. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a female who indicated she was driving in the area when a small white car pulled up behind her and activated blue and white strobe lights indicating for her to pull over. At the same time, a blue car and a red car approached her vehicle. The driver of the blue car rolled down his window and pointed a gun at the victim telling her to pull over. The indicated she would pull over, but instead, drove to the nearby Burger King. The three cars left the area in an unknown direction.
