Inside Poinciana Florida

Osceola County – On May 25 at approximately 8:00 p.m., deputies responded to a home in Poinciana* in reference to a possible sexual battery. When deputies arrived, they spoke with the victim’s mother who indicated she recently learned her son was victimized by an adult who was caring for her children nearly a year ago.  One of her other children told her he witnessed the caretaker, George Charles Nilson (DOB 5/1/74) from Poinciana inappropriately touch another child, who at the time was 12 years old. This occurred while the mother was in the hospital caring for another child and had left Nilson to take care of her other children. The 12-year-old victim told deputies Nilson touched him in a sexual manner and made him touch Nilson on at least 5 occasions since May of 2005 until March of this year. The victim was unable to recall the specific dates or times but stated Nilson told him never to tell his parents. 
Deputies spoke with Nilson and after further investigation, he was arrested and charged with Sexual Battery by Custodian-Victim Less Than 18 (F.S.S. 794.011-8b).  He was booked into the Osceola County jail with no bond. Nilson’s original charge dates back to August of 1999 when he was convicted of sexual abuse in Orange, New York.
The Department of Children and Families was notified of the incident and Sheriff’s Office detectives continue to investigate.
